This deleted scene from Deadpool & Wolverine gives us hope for the future of a beloved character

Deadpool & Wolverine has become one of the movies of the year, both for its box office success and for bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe back to the Olympus from which it seemed to have fallen. Much of the credit goes to the cameos that appear in the movie, from the return of Chris Evans’ Human Torch to the promised Gambit by Channing Tatum.

This cameo may seem like a simple joke, but fans have been delighted and some are already asking for him to have its own movie. Either way, the truth is that it could fit perfectly into the MCU, since at the end of the film there was a deleted scene that was never made public and that we can now enjoy thanks to Ryan Reynolds sharing it.

In the revealed sequence, Gambit moves among the scattered bodies in the Void, the setting of the characters’ final battle in Fox’s movie. At the end of the scene, his eyes glow as he looks directly at the camera, smiling just before the sound of a Doctor Strange portal opening is heard — and subtly reflected in his eyes — giving him access back to his original world.
